This course will introduce the learner to Regulation FF, which establishes rules for consumer medical information and credit eligibility. The learner will be provided with an overview of the exceptions to Regulation FF, as well an example of such exceptions. After completing this program, the learner will understand:

  • What a creditor can do with unsolicited medical information.
  • When a creditor can obtain and use medical information to establish eligibility.
  • Specific exceptions that allow creditors to use medical information.

This course will introduce the learner to Regulation EE, which is instituted through the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improvement Act of 1991 (FDICIA). The learner will be presented with a thorough overview of Regulation EE, including a discussion of the purposes of the regulation. After completing this program, the learner will understand:

  • Definition of the term "financial institution."
  • What a financial institution must have.
  • What financial institutions are allowed to pay under the regulation.

This course will introduce the learner to Regulation E and the ways in which it is related to the Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFT). The learner will be presented with an overview of how the EFT system affects consumers through disclosures and established rights. After completing this program, the learner will understand:

  • The relationship of the consumer to the EFT system.
  • The necessity of disclosures and details about the content of disclosures.
  • What is considered an EFT error.

This course will introduce the learner to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, whose primary goal is to place parents in control over what information is collected from their children online. The learner will be able to apply knowledge of the law to commercial websites and online services directed to children under the age of 13. After completing this program, the learner will be able to understand:

  • The roles and responsibilities of operators of aforementioned websites.
  • Exceptions allowing operators to collect a child's email address without obtaining parent consent in advance.
  • Privacy notices subject to the requirements of COPPA.

This course will introduce the learner to the ways in which Regulation D establishes the minimum balance requirement that must be maintained in reserve accounts. The learner will also be instructed on the details of Regulation D's relationship with the Monetary Control Act. After completing this program, the learner will understand:

  • The purposes of Regulation D and the Monetary Control Act.
  • Which depository institutions are covered under Regulation D.
  • Deposit accounts, as defined under Regulation D.

This course will familiarize the learner with Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act and the process of check truncation. The learner will be able to recognize substitute checks and understand the legalities surrounding them. After completing this program, the learner will be able to:

  • Differentiate between warranties and indemnities required under Check 21.
  • Make and submit claims for recredits which consumers may ask for under certain conditions.
  • Communicate with customers about Check 21.

This course will introduce the learner to Regulation AA and the Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP) Act. The learner will be instructed on the provisions and prohibitions enacted under Regulation AA. After completing this program, the learner will understand:

  • How confessions of judgment occur.
  • What third-party relationships are considered UDAAPs.
  • What constitutes a UDAAP.
